Rotating Element Sootblower SR Series

Function:

  • When the blower is started from an idle position, an initial axial movement is required to open the valve and admit the blowing medium to the element.
  • The element contains an arrangement of convergent-divergent nozzles to direct the blowing medium on the surfaces to be cleaned.
  • A combined axial and rotary movement is then generated by the sleeve drive mechanism to achieve the design blowing arc.
  • The valve is closed by reversing the mechanism back to its rest position.

Special features:

  • built for durability:  all moving parts enclosed; flexible coupling used where required for differential expansion; gas tight wallbox
  • minimal maintenance: gearboxes are sealed for life, requiring no in-service lubrication
  • simple installation: blower mounts directly into wallbox and requires no external support structure; special companion flanges not required; suitable bearings are supplied for clamping or welding to the boiler tubes to provide support for the element
  • minimal number of moving parts
  • emergency manual operation using crank handle
